Weekly Car Rental in Paphos
For most holidays, a week is the natural length, and it is also where the price per day gets noticeably better. This guide explains how the 7 day rate works, how it compares with a shorter rental, and how to make the most of seven days with a car. CHMI Rentals has served Paphos for over 23 years from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.
How the 7 Day Rate Works
Our short rental rates are set for 3, 7 and 21 days, and the fleet page shows each car's price for those lengths. The longer the rental, the lower the price per day. That means the 7 day price is lower per day than the 3 day price, and the 21 day price is lower again.
This is why the right length matters. A 3 day rental at a daily rate can cost more overall than a 7 day booking at the weekly rate, even though you are paying for extra days you might not fully use. If you are hesitating between four days and a full week, compare the two on the fleet page before you decide. Our minimum rental is 72 hours.
| Length | How it is priced | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days (72 hours) | The 3 day rate | Daily car rental |
| 7 days | The 7 day rate, lower per day | This page |
| 21 days | The 21 day rate, lower again | Short-term car hire |
| A month or more | Monthly rental | Long-term rental |
A Week With the Car
Paphos is spread out, so a week with a car lets you see the district properly. Here is a plan you can adapt.
- Day 1: settle in. Collect the car at the airport or at your hotel. Take a short drive to get used to driving on the left.
- Day 2: Kato Paphos. Walk the harbour, the castle, the mosaics and the promenade. Park once and explore on foot.
- Day 3: Coral Bay. A beach day on the coast north of Paphos.
- Day 4: the south coast. The paved coast road east to Petra tou Romiou, and on towards Limassol for its seafront and marina.
- Day 5: the hills. Tala and the monastery of Agios Neophytos, with the quiet villages inland.
- Day 6: Polis and Latchi. A longer drive that rewards you with waterfront lunches and boat trips. It is outside our free delivery area, so delivery there has an extra charge.
- Day 7: rest, then return. Return the car on time with the same fuel level.
Mileage is unlimited on our rentals, so the distances do not change the price. Fuel is not included. See our unlimited mileage guide for drive times.
Which Car for a Week?
For a couple or a small family, a compact automatic is usually plenty, and it keeps costs down. Families with lots of luggage may prefer the roomy Nissan Note. If you want more comfort on longer drives, an SUV has more space and a higher driving position. For the most room, see the Nissan X-Trail.
| Car | Best for | Monthly rental |
|---|---|---|
| Nissan Note | Legroom and luggage space | €450 |
| Suzuki Swift | An agile car with Bluetooth | €540 |
| Honda Fit | Comfort and versatile seating | €650 |
| Toyota Vitz | A small, easy-to-park city car | €650 |
Travelling With Children
We provide baby seats, child safety seats and booster seats on request. Tell us the ages and heights of your children at booking, so we can prepare the right seats for delivery. Everyone in the car must wear a seat belt, and that includes rear passengers. Never leave children alone in a parked car, particularly in summer.
Timing Your Week
Our prices are the same all year. July and August are the busiest months, so if you travel then, book early.
How Booking and Handover Work
- Choose your car and dates on the fleet page. The minimum rental is 72 hours.
- Book at least 24 hours before if you want delivery to your hotel, villa or home, or a handover at the airport.
- Bring your documents: a valid driving licence, your passport or ID, and cash or a credit card in the renter's name.
- Meet your agent at the airport arrivals terminal, at your accommodation, or collect from our shop.
- Sign, pay and leave your passport as security, as set out in our terms.
- Return the car on time with the same fuel level. Returns are during shop hours, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm.
Extending Your Rental
Plans change. A week can turn into ten days. Extensions are possible subject to vehicle availability, so contact us as early as you can rather than waiting until your return date. After the contract is signed, refunds cannot be given, so choose your length carefully. If you know you will stay longer, see our short-term car hire and long-term rental pages.
What to Check at Handover
- Confirm the fuel level matches your rental agreement.
- Photograph any existing scratches or dents before you leave the pickup area.
- Check that the insurance excess and your documents are as agreed.
- Adjust the seat, mirrors and steering position, and find the indicators and wipers.
- Set your satnav before you move off, not while driving.
