Daily Car Rental in Paphos: How It Works
People who search for daily car rental usually want a simple thing: pay for the days you need, and nothing more. That is how our pricing works, with one rule to know first. Our minimum rental is 72 hours (3 days). That is longer than some companies, and it is worth knowing before you plan your trip. CHMI Rentals has served Paphos for over 23 years from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.
The 72 Hour Minimum
A 3 day rental is 72 hours from handover to return. For example, if you collect the car at 10am on a Monday, it is due back by 10am on Thursday. The time matters, because a return after the agreed date and time carries an hourly delay fee under our terms.
If you only need a car for one or two days, a rental may not be the best answer. In Kato Paphos, the harbour, the castle, the promenade and most restaurants can be reached on foot, and a taxi covers short trips. A common approach is to enjoy the first days on foot, then rent for the days you want to explore, and we can deliver the car to your hotel the morning you need it.
| You need a car for | Best answer |
|---|---|
| One or two days | Walk, or use a taxi. Rent later in your trip if you want to explore. |
| Three days or more | Daily rental, from 72 hours. See the rates below. |
| A week | The 7 day rate. See our weekly car rental guide. |
| A month or more | Long-term rental, or a lease from three months. |
Daily Rates at 3, 7 and 21 Days
Our short rental rates are set for 3, 7 and 21 days, and the fleet page shows each car's price for those lengths. The longer the rental, the lower the price per day. The all-cars page shows each car with a price from a 3 day rental, so you can compare before you choose.
This is why the length of your booking matters as much as the size of the car. A 3 day rental at a daily rate can cost more overall than a 7 day booking at the weekly rate, even though you are paying for extra days you might not fully use. If you are on the edge between the two, compare both on the fleet page.
What the Daily Rate Includes
- Third-party insurance. The renter is responsible for damage and theft, subject to the excess limits in the agreement, so ask what your excess is.
- Unlimited mileage. The distance you drive does not change the rental price. See our unlimited mileage guide.
- Free delivery and a ride to your accommodation in Paphos town, at Paphos Airport and in Chloraka, Kissonerga, Peyia, Coral Bay, Tala, Empa and Mesa Chorio, when you rent with us. Book 24 hours before.
Fuel is not included. Return the car with the same fuel level you received, because petrol is non-refundable. Our no hidden fees page lists every charge and obligation in our terms.
Choosing a Car
For a few days, a compact automatic is usually the easiest and cheapest choice. All our compact cars are 2020 automatics with five seats, air conditioning, a radio and a USB port. If you need more room, look at SUV rental such as the Nissan X-Trail.
| Car | Best for | Monthly rental |
|---|---|---|
| Nissan Note | Legroom and luggage space | €450 |
| Suzuki Swift | An agile car with Bluetooth | €540 |
| Honda Fit | Comfort and versatile seating | €650 |
| Toyota Vitz | A small, easy-to-park city car | €650 |
Summer Availability
Our prices are the same all year. July and August are the busiest months, and popular cars such as the SUVs can be booked out days in advance, so book early.
How Booking and Handover Work
- Choose your car and dates on the fleet page. The minimum rental is 72 hours.
- Book at least 24 hours before if you want delivery to your hotel, villa or home, or a handover at the airport.
- Bring your documents: a valid driving licence, your passport or ID, and cash or a credit card in the renter's name.
- Meet your agent at the airport arrivals terminal, at your accommodation, or collect from our shop.
- Sign, pay and leave your passport as security, as set out in our terms.
- Return the car on time with the same fuel level. Returns are during shop hours, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm.
What to Check at Handover
- Confirm the fuel level matches your rental agreement.
- Photograph any existing scratches or dents before you leave the pickup area.
- Check that the insurance excess and your documents are as agreed.
- Adjust the seat, mirrors and steering position, and find the indicators and wipers.
- Set your satnav before you move off, not while driving.
