Weekend Car Rental in Paphos
A short break in Paphos is easy to enjoy, and a car turns a few days into a proper trip. There is one thing to know when you plan it. Our minimum rental is 72 hours (3 days). So a weekend rental means three days, for example collecting the car on Friday morning and returning it on Monday morning. CHMI Rentals has served Paphos for over 23 years from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.
How a Weekend Rental Fits the 72 Hours
| Collect | Return | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Friday at 10am | Monday at 10am | 72 hours |
| Friday at 6pm | Monday at 6pm | 72 hours |
| Saturday morning | Tuesday morning | 72 hours |
These times are examples. Choose the times that suit your flights and check-in, and remember that a return after the agreed time carries an hourly delay fee under our terms. If you can only spare Saturday and Sunday, a taxi and walking will do better than a rental, or you can extend to three days.
A Weekend Plan Worth the Car
- Friday: arrive and settle. Land at Paphos Airport, where our agent meets you outside arrivals with the paperwork ready. Late arrivals are fine, because airport delivery runs 24 hours. See after hours car rental.
- Saturday: the coast north. Drive to Coral Bay for a beach day, and arrive early in summer to find space. If you have energy left, continue to Peyia and the harbour at Agios Georgios.
- Sunday: the south coast. Take the paved coast road east to Petra tou Romiou, the rock linked with Aphrodite, then keep going for coastal villages and lunch. The motorway takes you on to Limassol if you want its seafront promenade and marina.
- Monday: the old town, then home. Walk the harbour, the castle and the mosaics in Kato Paphos, then return the car. Returns are during shop hours, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm.
Mileage is unlimited on our rentals, so a full weekend of driving does not add to the price. Fuel is not included. See our road trip car rental guide for longer routes.
Choosing a Car for a Weekend
For one or two people, a compact automatic keeps costs down and makes parking easy. Couples with luggage or families with children may prefer the roomier Nissan Note. For more room, choose the Nissan X-Trail.
| Car | Best for | Monthly rental |
|---|---|---|
| Nissan Note | Legroom and luggage space | €450 |
| Suzuki Swift | An agile car with Bluetooth | €540 |
| Honda Fit | Comfort and versatile seating | €650 |
| Toyota Vitz | A small, easy-to-park city car | €650 |

Book Early for Busy Weekends
July and August are the busiest months, and popular cars can be booked out days in advance. If you have a fixed weekend, book early. Book at least 24 hours before if you want delivery to your hotel or villa.
What You Need to Rent
- A valid driving licence. Drivers must be over 21, or have at least 3 years of driving experience.

What to Check at Handover
- Confirm the fuel level matches your rental agreement.
- Photograph any existing scratches or dents before you leave the pickup area.
- Check that the insurance excess and your documents are as agreed.
