Unlimited Mileage on Every CHMI Rental

Mileage is unlimited on our rentals. That means there is no kilometre allowance to watch, no per-kilometre charge for going further than you planned, and no need to work out in advance how far you will drive. It is a simple feature, and it matters most for exactly the kind of trip people take in Paphos: a base in one place, and a lot of separate stops. CHMI Rentals has served Paphos for over 23 years from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.

What Unlimited Mileage Covers, and What It Does Not

ItemHow it works
Distance drivenUnlimited. The kilometres you drive do not add to the rental price.
FuelNot included. Return the car with the same fuel level you received. Petrol is non-refundable.
Where you may driveNot in Northern Cyprus, the Akamas region or off-road. Damage there voids cover and makes the renter fully liable.
Late returnAn hourly delay fee applies if the car is not returned on the agreed date and time.
LeasesDifferent. A lease includes the first 20,000 km, and extra distance is charged at 75 cents per km.

See our no hidden fees page for every charge and obligation in our terms.

Why Distance Matters in Paphos

Paphos is spread out. The old town, the harbour, the Tombs of the Kings, Coral Bay, the villages behind Peyia and the coast road towards Petra tou Romiou are all separate stops, so you will spend real time in the car. Add a trip across the island, and the kilometres mount up quickly. With unlimited mileage, that is one less thing to price.

Drive Times From Paphos Airport

These approximate times, for normal traffic, show how far a typical day can stretch. They are only a guide, so allow extra on peak summer weekends and always check live directions.

Day Trips Worth the Kilometres

  1. Petra tou Romiou and the south coast. A scenic paved coast road east of Paphos to the rock linked with Aphrodite. Keep going for coastal villages and lunch.
  2. Coral Bay. A beach day on the coast north of Paphos. Arrive early in summer to find space.
  3. Polis and Latchi. A longer drive that rewards you with waterfront lunches and boat trips. It is outside our free delivery area, so delivery there has an extra charge; call the shop.
  4. Limassol. The motorway takes you to the island's second city, which makes a natural stop for coffee or lunch, a walk along the seafront promenade or a visit to the marina.
  5. The mountain villages. Paved mountain roads lead up towards the Troodos villages. Stay on paved roads, as off-road driving is not permitted.
  6. Across the island. Larnaca Airport is around 134 km from Paphos, about 1 hour 30 minutes on the motorway. See Larnaca to Paphos.

A Cross-Island Trip With No Extra Distance Charge

Flying into Larnaca but staying in Paphos? When you rent with us, we can also take you from Larnaca to your hotel, villa or home in Paphos, at a price agreed with the shop. Please book 24 hours before. To drop the car at Larnaca Airport instead, call the shop; there is a charge. See our airport transfer service page.

Choosing the Right Car for a Lot of Driving

Long days behind the wheel are easier in the right car.

Planning the Fuel

Unlimited mileage does not mean free fuel, so it is worth planning.

  • Return the car with the same fuel level you received. Petrol is non-refundable, so returning it fuller does not earn credit.
  • Fill up before you start a long drive. Petrol stations can be spaced out on the motorway.
  • A compact car uses less fuel than an SUV, so if you plan a lot of driving, that can matter.
  • Set your satnav before you set off, and use a phone holder, not your hand.

Look After the Car on Long Trips

  • Contact us if a warning light appears or the car needs attention. Do not arrange your own repairs without asking.
  • Use a sun shade in summer, since cars heat quickly.
  • Keep water in the car for summer drives.
  • Take a break if you feel tired. Rest before you drive after a flight.
  • Lock the car whenever it is parked. Lost or broken keys are the renter's responsibility.

Staying for a Month or More

For longer stays, a long-term rental costs far less per day than short rentals, and you keep the freedom to explore. If you are sure you need the car for three months or more, a lease can be lower again, but it includes the first 20,000 km and charges 75 cents per km beyond that, so it suits people who do not drive long distances. See car leasing and our short-term car lease guide.

What You Need to Rent

  • A valid driving licence. Drivers must be over 21, or have at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Your passport or ID, which is left as security under our terms.
  • Cash or a credit card. Debit cards are not accepted, and you do not need a credit card if you pay in cash. See renting without a credit card.

What to Check at Handover

Two minutes at the start of the rental avoids disputes at the end.

  • Confirm the fuel level matches your rental agreement.
  • Photograph any existing scratches or dents before you leave the pickup area.
  • Check that the insurance excess and your documents are as agreed.
  • Adjust the seat, mirrors and steering position, and find the indicators and wipers.
  • Set your satnav before you move off, not while driving.
