Hotel Car Delivery in Paphos
Most visitors to Paphos stay in a hotel or a resort, and the last thing they want on the first morning is a taxi to a rental office. With CHMI Rentals you do not need one. When you rent with us, we bring the car to your hotel and hand it over there, free of charge in Paphos town, at Paphos Airport and in Chloraka, Kissonerga, Peyia, Coral Bay, Tala, Empa and Mesa Chorio, and further out for an extra charge. It is not only the shop. This guide explains how hotel delivery works, where it is free, what to have ready and how the return works. CHMI Rentals has served Paphos for over 23 years from Tombs of the Kings Avenue.
How Hotel Delivery Works
- Choose your car and dates on the fleet page. The minimum rental is 72 hours.
- Tell us the hotel name and the time you want the car. Book at least 24 hours before, so we can plan the handover.
- Meet your agent at the hotel. The agent brings the car and the paperwork to you.
- Show your documents and sign. Bring a valid driving licence, your passport or ID, and cash or a credit card in the renter's name. Your passport is left as security, as set out in our terms.
- Check the car together, then drive off from your own hotel.
Because the handover happens where you are staying, you do not lose half a day of your holiday on transport. If you are flying in, you can also collect the car at the airport instead, and drive to the hotel yourself. Our Paphos Airport car hire page explains that option.
Where Hotel Delivery Is Free
Delivery to your hotel is free for renters in Paphos town (the city centre, Kato Paphos, Universal and Geroskipou), at Paphos Airport and in Chloraka, Kissonerga, Peyia, Coral Bay, Tala, Empa and Mesa Chorio. That covers the main hotel areas visitors book, including Coral Bay. Hotels further out have an extra charge; call the shop for the price.
| Hotel area | Drive time | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Kato Paphos and the harbour | About 20 minutes from the airport | Kato Paphos |
| Universal | About 7 minutes from our shop | Universal |
| Chloraka and Kissonerga | About 9 and 14 minutes from our shop | Chloraka and Kissonerga |
| Geroskipou | About 11 minutes from our shop | Geroskipou |
| Coral Bay | About 35 to 40 minutes from the airport | Coral Bay |
Staying further away? Hotels outside Paphos town have an extra delivery charge. Call the shop on +357 99 655104 for the price.
Resorts and Larger Hotels
The larger hotels along the coast in Kato Paphos and Coral Bay cover a big area, with several entrances and car parks. To make the handover quick, tell us exactly where you are staying: the resort name, the building or villa number if there is one, and a phone number that works in Cyprus. Your agent will call you when they are close.
- Ask the hotel about parking before you arrive. Some hotels have their own car park, others rely on street parking nearby.
- Keep your phone on around the handover time, so the agent can reach you.
- Give your room or villa number only if you are happy for the agent to ask for you at reception.
- Plan for a few minutes of paperwork. The agreement is signed at the handover, not in advance.
Choosing a Car for a Hotel Stay
For a couple staying in Kato Paphos, a small automatic is easiest. The streets around the harbour are tight and parking is limited, and a compact car fits where a large one will not. Families with luggage often choose the roomier Nissan Note. If you are staying at a resort with golf bags or several suitcases, the Nissan X-Trail has a much bigger boot. Every passenger car in our fleet is an automatic.
| Staying as | A good fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A couple in Kato Paphos | Toyota Vitz or Suzuki Swift | Small and easy to park |
| A family with luggage | Nissan Note | Extra legroom and cargo space |
| A resort stay with golf bags | Nissan X-Trail | A large boot and more room |
Travelling With Children
We provide baby seats, child safety seats and booster seats on request. Tell us the ages and heights of your children when you book, and the seats come with the car to your hotel. Check that they are fitted correctly before you drive off, and never leave children alone in a parked car, particularly in summer.
Returning the Car From Your Hotel
Free delivery and pick-up covers the same area, so the end of the rental can be as simple as the start. Agree the return time and place with us in advance. Return the car with the same fuel level you received, on the agreed date and time, because late returns carry an hourly fee under the contract. You can also return the car at Paphos Airport, during shop hours, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm.
Before You Book
- Drivers must be over 21, or have at least 3 years of driving experience.
- You can pay in cash or by credit card, so a credit card is not required. See renting without a credit card.
- Vehicles carry third-party insurance, and the renter is responsible for damage or theft subject to the excess limits. Read our car rental insurance guide.
- Mileage is unlimited, and fuel is not included.
- Use paved roads only. Off-road driving, the Akamas region and Northern Cyprus are not permitted.
- After the contract is signed, refunds cannot be given, so check your dates before you confirm.
What to Check at Handover
- Confirm the fuel level matches your rental agreement.
- Photograph any existing scratches or dents before you drive away from the hotel.
- Check that the insurance excess and your documents are as agreed.
- Adjust the seat, mirrors and steering position, and find the indicators and wipers.
- Set your satnav before you move off, not while driving.
